Connect MicroBOS to Xero and each quote your customer accepts becomes a draft sales invoice in Xero, with the customer, the quote lines and the job reference filled in. You check it and send it from Xero.

Connect Xero
In MicroBOS, open Accounting and choose Xero. You sign in to Xero and allow MicroBOS to create invoices and contacts.
The customer accepts your quote
Your customer accepts the quote online, and MicroBOS books the job.
A draft invoice appears in Xero
MicroBOS creates a draft sales invoice dated that day and due in 14 days, using the lead reference as the invoice reference.
Approve and send in Xero
You check the invoice in Xero, then approve and send it as you would any other.
What the Xero link covers
What it does
- Creates a draft sales invoice in Xero, never an approved one.
- Adds the customer to the invoice by name and email address.
- Copies each quote line with its description, quantity and unit price.
- Sets the invoice date to the day of acceptance and the due date 14 days later.
- Logs each attempt as sent or failed on the Accounting screen, and tries again up to three times.
What it does not do
- Approve, send or chase the invoice.
- Record payments or read anything back from Xero.
- Set VAT or account codes. Xero applies your organisation's defaults.
- Let you choose between several Xero organisations. MicroBOS links the first organisation on the Xero login used to connect.
Common questions about Xero and MicroBOS
Does MicroBOS create invoices in Xero automatically?
Yes. When a customer accepts a quote online, MicroBOS creates a draft sales invoice in Xero. Nothing is sent to the customer until you approve it in Xero.
Does MicroBOS handle VAT in Xero?
MicroBOS sends no VAT rate. Xero applies the default tax setting of your organisation, so check the invoice before you approve it.
Can MicroBOS see my Xero accounts?
MicroBOS asks only for permission to create invoices and contacts. MicroBOS does not read your bank, payments or reports.
How do I disconnect Xero?
Open Accounting in MicroBOS and disconnect. MicroBOS stops creating invoices and leaves your Xero records as they are.

Xero is part of Business OS at £50 a month. Business OS is coming soon and is not on sale yet.
